Maruti Suzuki announced that it has started accepting pre-launch bookings for S-CROSS, India’s first premium crossover.
“S-CROSS combines the power and performance of an SUV with the comfort and premiumness of a sedan. Two engine options are available: DDiS 200 and DDiS 320,” said the company. The car is arguably the most stylish vehicle launched by Maruti in India.
S-CROSS was first unveiled at the 2015 IIFA awards. It will compete with models like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Hyundai Creta. It is based on Suzuki’s SX4 hatchback, which was never launched in India.
The car will have two diesel engine options – 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre multijet – both of which are made by Fiat. There will be not petrol version, or automatic transmission, at launch.
The S-Cross is 4,300mm long, 1,765mm wide, and stands 1,590mm high. Ground clearance is 180mm.
The S-CROSS is built on a brand new platform and engine and comes packed with features including cruise control, rain-sensing auto wiper, all wheel disc brakes, auto dimming IRVM, HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps with auto light-on function and mmartplay infotainment system with reverse parking camera.
S-CROSS, expected to be launched in early August, will be sold and delivered at the network of NEXA showrooms. NEXA is the new premium automotive experience by Maruti Suzuki and 30 NEXA showrooms will begin operations in the next few weeks.
Customers can take any of the following routes to indicate their intent to purchase S-CROSS:
a) Dial 1800-200-6392 (toll free) to make enquiries for S-CROSS and leave their contact details, or b) log in to www.nexaexperience.com and leave their contact details, or c) leave their contact details at any of the existing nationwide Maruti Suzuki sales network.
In addition the Company is displaying the S-CROSS at prominent locations where customers can see the S-CROSS and give their intent for purchase.
